The annual Queniborough FC Race Night was held on the 2nd April at Queniborough Primary School. Originally scheduled to take place at Queniborough village hall, last minute arrangements were made for an alternative venue due to a double booking at the village hall. In total, the race night raised just under £500.00 for the club, so well done to everyone who attended! Also, special thanks go out to all the volunteers who helped to make the night such a great success! With 52 people in attendance, they really did make the night a worthwhile event for the club. Well done to Scott Love for all the races he won! Even though he actually only won about two races, he continued to wind Big Toe and Ash up by cashing in everyone’s winning ticket to make them think he had won every race!! We must also bring up the kind generosity of Woody who bailed Johnny Goulty out by lending him a few quid at the end of the night! John was down to his last couple of pounds, when he used it along with Woody’s loan to buy a horse in the last race. The horse came in first and sent John home with that winning feeling and a big smile on his face!! But I think special mention needs to go to Big Toe for being so desperate to attend the race night that he jumped semi-naked into the canal at the Hope and Anchor for money!! This was done in front of a fully packed car park at the pub and raised a total of £38 to allow Big Toe to attend! See the following clip of Big Toe’s jump!...
